My garden photo of the day: 4/11/11

Bluebells—one of my favorite woodland flowers—are just breaking out into bloom. This flower takes me back to my childhood, when I remember it blooming in the little border garden next to our house. I've been propagating it in our yard—next to wild ginger—and am so happy to see it blooming gloriously.

Are yuou sure this is a bluebell? It looks like lungwort or pulmonaria to me. It's definitely not the British version of a bluebell.

Yes, here it is called Virginia bluebell (Mertensia virginica) but also, less commonly, lungwort oysterleaf. Maybe just a different name for the same plant.

I am glad that I have observed this blog. Ultimately anything not a crap, which we understand quite usually. The web site is lovingly maintained and up to date. So it really should be, thank you for this welcome transform
